This blog entry prompted me to do some googling, and I was disappointed to discover that, contrary to the stories doing the rounds, planning permission on The World islands doesn’t appear to be conditional on building in the style of whatever part of the world map you occupy.
Probably just as well for whoever buys Alaska. Although I feel that trying to build an igloo on your island would be in the spirit of the whole crazy idea.
There’s also a story that Rod Stewart has bought most of Europe. Again, seems to be an exageration.
