Genius! That’s the one.
Huh. Burning Chrome, eh? Not Mirrorshades at all.
Flagged to re-read, anyway. I wonder how well it’s stuck in my mind, these 15 years or so?

I used to (and sorta still) love this stuff. When I was at school, I have a friend, Jason, who was quite a good fantasy artist. he used to produce page after page of drawings – many of them being concept vehicles and spacecraft. He also had gorgeous glossy books full of them. One book I remember in particular was a series of concepts by Chris Foss, and they included a lot of the concept art for Dino De Laurentis’s Dune. Chris Foss’s work also featured on the cover of the the Asimov ‘robot’ paperbacks that I had at the time.
For my own part, I used to draw a fair bit as a kid, and this also inevitably included concept stuff, but not to the same degree and competency level as my friend Jason, and certainly nowhere near as nice as anything Chris Foss produced.
