A little while ago, BoingBoing had a series of posts about earwax and ear picks, from which we learned that there are two basic types of the stuff – the squishy yellow stuff with which I’m unpleasantly familiar, and a dryer flakier variant that’s apparently more prevalent in Asia.
But now, via the most excellent Inky Circus, we have a proper lab analysis of the yellow stuff.

Maybe not.
I was wondering whether anyone had ever made a candle from earwax in order to hear better and see in the dark. Googling reveals that Shrek did. But it also initiated me (not exactly being Dr Clue) to an alleged earwax removal process which has to be the cruellest practical joke since colonic irrigation.
Funnily enough, the final post on the late lamented ItLikesYou.com was from Dr. B, subject: ear candling. Coincidence? I think not.
